Use this strategy chart in the calm down area of your classroom. Students need to understand how to use the tools that are given to them, this allows students the chance to make a safe choice and then return to class when they are ready! Teach each strategy before using itin the calm down area.

Use this mat to help students calm down, taking deep breaths, and following the star pattern can help our young learners get back to a calm learning state. You can also roll a small amount of playdoh or putty instead of deep breathing.
