This is a guided note and introduction activity to the distance formula. The activity starts with a basic understanding of distance with horizontal and vertical lines on a coordinate plane. It then asks students to discover how to find the distance of diagonal lines using the Pythagorean Theorem.
Activity where a Dan the triangle must go home. Students use rigid motions: translations, reflections, and rotations to get Dan home. Students must describe their work and reasoning. This activity includes a 4 point rubric to help facilitate grading and expectations for students.
