Argument writing is difficult for many students as they grapple with the common core standards based on it. I created this graphic organizer along with the self/peer editing checklist to help guide students to a successful argument. This can be simplified for younger grades and can be made more complicated for older grades. I used this exact one with my seventh and eighth grade students and they loved having a guide!
Enjoy!
This is a midterm created for Grade 5 math. This is fully common core aligned and paced properly with New York State pacing guide. A wonderful final activity for teaching the coordinate plane. Over a period of days, students are tasked with reviewing the coordinate plane, determining important landmarks in their neighborhoods, finding their home, and creating a coordinate plane to map each location. A fun, culminating activity for students to enjoy. Differentiation and scaffolding is made easy with this one!
A 1-5 point scale for homework, classwork and behavior. I know many principals and administrators are getting heavy with the rubrics. This is a simple one, in student language allowing them to see what is expected of them.

Independent reading is a way for teachers to encourage choice and foster a love of reading. Utilize this book report along with the attached rubric to help your students with response to reading.

It started out as a joke until I realized how important public speaking is and how important confidence is in teaching students to speak in front of others without these "filler words". As a reminder, I created these signs. They are downloadable via zip file.
These decorations are fully aligned with Common Co
