Using a chromebook or tablet, students will work on the device to create this troubleshooting page for younger students. The students must use appropriate terminology that younger students can understand for tasks on their chromebook. Tasks may include opening a google doc, creating a google slideshow, uploading a google doc to google classroom, etc. It may also include how to add special characters in a document or how to change the font, lettering, etc.
7th - 12th

The purpose of this project is to build a prosthetic limb our of the legos you are provided. This should be a working limb or digit. You will be using computer skills, coding skills, designing and engineering your own prosthetic limb or prosthetic digit.

With ever changing technology, students need to understand that technology and science are continually changing. This project is to focus on some new and changing technologies to analyze the technology and create their own work using the technology. This may take 2-3 class days for jr high and 1-2 days for high school.
8th - 12th

This is a student choice powerpoint where the student can pick a broad or specific type of technology to research the history of. This 10 slide powerpoint entails parts, who, when, where was it invented, along with life before that technology, and a works cited slide. I give the students 1 class period and a weekend to work on this presentation.
4th - 8th

Purpose: To develop a model that represents all of the parts of a telecommunication system between you and a friend whether by telephone or the internet. This project and rubric were designed with the help of my classroom students. Their input is how I developed the rubric. 2-3 class days to complete.
Students explain how physical and digital security measures protect electronic information. The students then answer questions to 3 different cybersecurity scenarios.

Teaching style
I follow the 5 E's as an educator. Every unit being taught should include some research, engage, exploration, explanation, elaboration or extension of the phenomena, and then an evaluation through assessment or a project.
