Students will write a three paragraph opinion writing piece. This is based on the Common Core Standards. Students will be writing their opinion on why a specific person in their life is special. This lesson contains all of the necessary paperwork to walk students through the writing process. There is also a teacher's guide and a grading rubric.

This project is an informational topic, research writing assignment I used in a gifted fourth grade classroom. Students choose their own topic and write a four paragraph essay followed by a speech to the class about their topic. It is in a Word document so that you can change the due dates to tailor this to your classroom.

This packet is used as a supplement to A Wrinkle In Time. Students will draw a picture of each character, decide four character traits and write a book review and recommendation.
