After listening to the book Arthur's Valentines by Marc Brown students can sequence the story. Meets Common Core Standards 1.RL.2 & 1.RL.3.

There are two copies for each part of the behavior system. Print each page onto tagboard or construction paper. Use clothes pins/ clips with students' names/numbers and have students move clips according to behavior. Students start out on "Bee"ing Good. When they are caught with good behavior, they move to "Bee"ing Super. If students have trouble following classroom rules, clips move down the chart.
After listening to the book Little Rabbit's Loose Tooth by Lucy Bate students record the setting, problem, solution, a text-to-self connection and an illustration.

Parents can complete at Meet the Teacher, or on the first day of school giving all information about their child. I place them all in one notebook so I always have the information handy.
Students read the task cards and fill in the missing number on the recording sheet. The cards work on missing numbers when skip counting by 2, 5, 10 and 25.
Students complete the following after reading a new book:
~Topic
~Why did you select this book?
~A new fact you learned (x2)
~New word and meaning
~Would you recommend this book to someone? Why?
