Art Student Bio
This is a great document to use during the first few days of a visual arts class in High School. The students fill it out, then it goes right into your binder. The students may tell you personal things that they want you to know and give you their updated contact information for their guardians. There is also a space that you (the teacher) can use for your own records.

5 Years as a High School Visual Arts Teacher.
Teaching style
I always start by telling my students I'm starting from the beginning, assuming they know nothing. They have to learn and practice skills before attempting to draw! I always teach by example, using a document camera projecting what I am doing onto the screen.
My own education history
I attended an Art School in Toronto (OCADU - The Ontario College of Art & Design University). During my years there, I realized that I did not want to be a "gallery artist" and my dream of being a "set designer" was slowly going to be taken over by digital animation. Becoming an art teacher was a logical choice for me because all of my jobs in my teens and 20's were volunteering or working teaching art to younger students!
