I use this letter to request a family picture from each student to display in my classroom each year. There are many ways to display the photos but this year, I am hanging them as a border with light up clothes pins by Sharper Image that I found at Hobby Lobby. In addition to the letter, there are place holders for each family photo (2 per page)
This is a countdown to winter break. Each day, students receive a small gift (usually a little snack). They write what they are given, illustrate, and create an equation. In the open space above the writing lines, students can draw their gift. I have students create an equation with their “gift”. Example: if they receive 4 red, 3 yellow, and 4 green goldfish they would write the equation 4+3+4=12.
