I am currently working as a teacher-librarian and I illustrated these labels to tape to the shelves in my library. They are great for primary students, and English Language Learners. They clearly state the topic, Dewey number and have a colourful illustration of the topic. Not only do they make things easier to find for students, they also add a bit of colour and brightness. Great for the beginning of the year - two 81/2 x 11 sheets that can be photocopied to make an 11 x 17 size poster. The sheet has six boxes, with the following instructions at the top"This page is a way for your classmates and teacher to get to know you better. The idea is that you fill in ALL the space in each section with whatever information you think is important about you. You can write, draw, paste pictures, write poems, or whatever else you can think of. Be creative!"

Have your students fill out these leaves at the beginning of the year to create a beautiful wall, bulletin board, or border in your classroom. The leaves are hand drawn with a border with the words, "I hope, I wish, I will, I want". Students could write or draw, or even create a collage of their goals and wishes for the year. This could also be used for specific subjects or units.
