This PowerPoint teaches students to use a T-chart for solving two-step word problems. It is designed to model the first half of the problems as a class and then the second half of the problems are for cooperative learning (Numbered Heads Together - Kagan). I have also created an independent practice sheet for students to practice at the end of the lesson.
This worksheet has 5 multistep word problems with a T-chart and check boxes for the "plan, solve, check" strategy. I also have a PowerPoint presentation that is used to explicitly teach these strategies for solving word problems.
This is a short PowerPoint presentation that teaches students how to read fluently by teaching them two strategies (1) Using 2-3 words at a time to read in phrases and (2) Using intonation to read with expression. My suggestion is to use two slides per day, so this would be practice for 4 days.
The readability of the sentences is pretty easy so this could be used as early as 1st grade or for higher grades (2nd-4th) for fluency practice.

This document includes 2 half-page reflection sheets for exit-slips. Includes places for students to record an exit slip number, what they did well, what they can do to improve and color in one of three smileys to indicate if they are on track to meet their goal for each unit. These can be cut in half or can be used as whole sheets in a data notebook to record multiple exit slips.
This reflection sheet is intended to help students monitor their own learning.
