If your students are like mine, they need so much practice with deciphering the operation! This contains 26 word problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication & division) that students cut out and sort according to the operation. Once they have sorted them, I have my students solve. 2 addition, 6 subtraction, 12 multiplication, 6 division problems

The goal of the project is to develop an understanding of the beginnings of math and how it affects the math students learn today. A great project for the beginning, middle or end of the year! Students will research a mathematician and create a visual of their choice about their person. The visual will include 4 parts: Part 1- The Basics, Part 2 – Childhood, Part 3 - Education, Part 4- How The World Has Been Affected Directions for students also include some suggested mathematicians. Includes 1 step by step problem on how to set up equation and draw a model to solve. Nothing fancy, but use for lesson notes or for reteaching.
