About the store
This is my 15th year teaching. I graduated from Averett University in 2010 and I love how the small community allowed me to develop and grow. Without the community support, I wouldn't have been able to make it through college. This is why I am passionate about AVID, helping students develop that community now to get them through middle school and beyond!

Experience

This is my 15th year teaching. I graduated from Averett University in 2010 and I love how the small community allowed me to develop and grow. Without the community support, I wouldn't have been able to make it through college. This is why I am passionate about AVID, helping students develop that community now to get them through middle school and beyond!

Teaching style

I am very creative and love to have students create with me. I frequently do projects with choices that help them connect to real life.

My own education history

I went to Averett University for my undergraduate and graduate degree, both relating to education.

Additional biographical information

I know teach an elective called AVID. AVID is about helping all students succeed regardless of race, socio-economic status, or gender. AVID is all about helping students "in the academic middle" to learn the skills to be successful in higher level classes to help them prepare for college and compete against other students who may have more resources than them.
