I worked for multiple years as a self contained preschool special education classroom, then moved to an invlusive pre-k setting and now I am a itinerant preschool special education teacher in the VPI classroom.
Have your student choose how they are feeling and then pick a sensory break from an array of three choices. This perfect for teaching students that they can make choices on how to calm their body down for learning. I use this with my preschoolers and I help label their emotion and then have them choose a sensory big to help them get back to our classroom. Pre- teach students how to big a sensory break while they are calm!
This item pairs well with my choice visual set item. I present 2-3 items for my students to choose from when they are feeling: wiggle, overwhelmed, overstimulated and they need an activity to give their body a break.
Tie this up to some bubbles and let your students enjoy!
