I am a veteran percussion educator with experience teaching at the middle school and high school levels in large, comprehensive band programs. My work has included directing percussion ensembles, front ensemble, drumline, and supporting concert band and wind ensemble percussion sections.
My teaching focuses on building technically strong, musically independent percussionists while maintaining high expectations for ensemble contribution, preparation, and professionalism. I have extensive experience designing assessment systems that reflect real rehearsal skills rather than isolated written tasks.

Teaching style
My teaching style is performance-driven, student-centered, and practical.
I emphasize:

Translating daily rehearsal habits into measurable growth
Rather than treating assessment as a separate activity, I build it directly into rehearsal routines. Many of my resources reflect Praxis-style performance expectations and are designed to mirror how percussion skills are evaluated in authentic musical settings.
My own education history
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Texas and am Music EC–12 certified in Texas. This formal training, combined with extensive classroom experience, informs the structure and clarity of the resources in this store.
My education emphasized comprehensive musicianship, percussion pedagogy, and practical application—foundations that guide my approach to performance-based assessment and rehearsal design.
