I make both digital, no print materials and print materials for social communication, SEL, speech and language, and literacy. I have been loving life as an SLP with over 25 years of experience working with the pre-k through high school. I am committed to making products that don't just practice social communication BUT ALSO TEACH the social communication skill using a scaffolded learning approach in a manner that shows respect for diverse learning styles. I enjoy making materials for older students that are challenging, relevant and use real photographs featuring people from diverse backgrounds. For my line of BOOM cards, I am committed to making them ALL with audio directions to help students with reading and visual disabilities.

Teaching style

I am committed to making digital products that are accessible to and provide supports to all learners. Check out my boom cards for social communication and emotional regulation skills! In the area of social communication, I believe in comprehensive but focused interventions. After all, changing social skills in a process that typically occurs over a period of time using evidence-based interventions!

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was featured on the BOOM learning symposium 2023 and recently received the designation of "premier publisher" on the BOOM learning website. Published "The Reintegration Resource, a therapy manual for working with adolescents and adults with traumatic brain injury." I served on the Advisory Board for Free Spirit Publishing. I have been featured in the ASHA Leader and my blog, Badger State Speechy was named top SLP blog of 2018 by Speech Pathology Masters Programs and top 75 websites to follow in 2019. I have been featured numerous times in the ASHA WIRE blog section. However, my favorite moments has been hearing from former students that I provided support or changed their lives in a positive way.

My own education history

Masters degree in Communication Disorders from University of Eau -Claire, Eau Claire, Wisconsin and considerable coursework in developing digital materials that facilitate learning, making digital materials accessible to students with vision, hearning, learning and motor deficits, managing autism, social communication and articulation and phonological interventions.
