I make my own writing journals for my students. This is the cover I allow them to color and make their own. I then print out writing paper and 3 hole punch it together to make it a journal :)

Using the Wit and Wisdom reading program level 1 - one of the end of module tasks is to write an informational paragraph about 2 animals and how they use their unique features. This is a great student hand out for children to study and practice talking about and writing before the assessment.

I use this up on the front board with my students. This reminds them that when reading a number story or listening to an equation, the BIGGER number goes first in adding and last when subtracting. (I always keep the small number in the middle since it doesn't always matter with adding). Our math terms "fewer" and "more" are in there too to remind students during a number story if you hear "fewer" it is usually for a subtraction sentence and if you hear "more" it is usually an addition sentence.
