Teaching the beginning, middle and end with my story planning sheet. Perfect for retelling a story or for developing a story. I use fairy tales to begin by role modelling as a class. A primary dictionary for grade 2, 3 and 4 made with letter sized paper folded on the long side making a narrow handy dictionary perfectly sized for little fingers. It includes the 100 high frequency words, most misspelled words for grade 2,3 and 4. Lists including months, numbers, and alphabetized pages with lots of blank spaces for writing personal words the children use in their writing and most common words for each letter of the alphabet on each page.

Each square is 1 centimetre just like the purchased plastic Base Ten Block Sets. The Magentic Base Ten blocks are made out of laminated printed labels stuck to magnet. This is purchased by the foot from a sign shop or in packages from Avery. Instructions included. Colour can be easily changed using Word options.

This is an 8-page mini booklet that will make daddy cry. Each page (4.25" x 5.5") has a personal message for dad. Print the pages back to back then cut page in half (book style). Place one set of pages onto the other. Fold then staple twice with a long arm stapler. We brainstorm for each page then I set a timer for writing a sentence in their own book. When time is up, we are ready to start next page. When writing is done, pictures are added that match what they wrote about. A real keepsake.

A number line that the teacher can easily cut on the cutter and a primary child can easily glue together with few directions. A strip 2" wide that makes a 5 foot strip and that can be clipped with a paper clip between lessons. Use the line for teaching counting by 2's, 3's, 5's and 10's. Have the students colour different coloured dots above the numbers that are multiples.

A Daily 5 Activity sheet for Word Work. There are boxes for printing in a list of words (ie. spelling list, vocabulary words, word wall practice) then are 'coded' into numbers. Secret messages can be sent to friends. Each sheet has the 'secret code' at the bottom. My students love this!

144 Homophones mini-cards. The stack of laminated cards will fit inside of a hockey card box for easy storage. Each card is half the size of a hockey card. Use as a matching game or a fish game. Students require a basic understanding of 'doubles ( 4+4, 9+9 ...) and squares (4x4, 9x9 ...) of numbers' when learning their multiplication tables. Using approximately 26-28 heart candies in each baggie, the students sort, count, tally, classify and graph their colours of heart shaped candy. A fun math activity for Valentine's Day. This is a Word document that can easily be changed (last year I found individual boxes of candy with different colours than previous years).

I used this sheet with a fairytale done first on the overhead, then handed out and done together, then done independently with a fairytale I read. This retell sheet has coloured bookmarks that go with the practice sheet. When done at school, this strategy can be practiced alone or with a learning partner. Bookmarks can be sent home when the child knows how to use it so that the child can practice the retelling strategy at home.

It comes as a Word format (.doc) so you can easily change the year and teacher name, as well as the inside 'favorites' if needed. Emergency Preparedness for primary level students. Have a conversation at the beginning of the year about the process of an emergency drill. When students understand what their job is during a drill have them fill in this sheet for reflection and sharing. Teacher can make a booklet out of the classes safety ideas.
