Be a Math Master

Used for grades 7-12. Students do research (links are included) of their dream vacation, (flight, hotel, entertainment, and food). They then have to record their calculations on the attached spreadsheet and stay within their budget. There are some percentage questions (calculating tip and taxes on food/hotel). There are no formulas used in the google sheets so students are required to do their own calculations. Takes about 2 class days (45 min each), to complete. _________________________

There are 3 different project ideas where students have to draw their own parabola that they would see in real life given select criteria. It is open ended to promote creativity. There is a 2 slide "cheat sheet" for students to reference in the beginning of the slidedeck with all of the vocabulary that students will need in order to complete the activity. There are 3 real life examples (railroad tracks, railing, and a crosswalk) where students have to put their own labels on the angles in the correct location when given the names of the angle relationships.
