The activity can be as involved as you want. This is usually one of the favorite parts of teaching math for my classes. Children get to create a spy name, complete several activities related to time, and solve a fictitious crime. The lesson involves reading time, writing analog hands, solving elapsed time problems, 24-hour time, digital and analog time, time with words, and American time zones. This is one of the best ways to teach money to children. It's important for them to understand that they already know how to skip count to find solutions. Now all they will have to do is mentally match the coins to the amounts to increase learning coins.
