I have taught in Special Education for 15 years. I have a Masters in Teaching and a post masters in Applied Behavior Analysis. I'm sitting for my board exam this summer and hopefully becoming a certified behavior analyst (BCBA).

This tool will help students reflect on how their body and mind reacts to different emotions (labeled 1-5). You can use this chart in conjunction with the De-escalation Visual. You can minimize, laminate, and place on students' desks as a reminder of replacement behaviors.

You can use this tool in conjunction with the Student 5 Point Scale. This tool can be given to general education teachers and others that work with a child that requires behavior interventions. It is currently filled with info that addresses a student with physically aggressive behaviors. The responses are research based, but may need to be adjusted for your student.
