About the store

I am mother of 2 and a behavior analyst. I have experience teaching children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders how to communicate (via talking, pictures, gestures or electronic devices) and many other skills. I also have experience with helping caregivers understand the person who is attempting to communicate their needs via behaviors that are concerning to them. Last I am also a parent to a child with autism. I’ve used my experience and knowledge to support my child and teach him what is necessary for him to be comfortable and happy as well as teaching family members and friends how to understand him and his needs. Licensed Behavior Analyst with early intervention experience and working with adults with Autism, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (18-70yo). Experience with implementing PFA/SBT and The Balance Program.

This visual is used to help someone learn to describe items. Describing is an important skill for communication (to make requests, to explain events and to make conversations). The visual can be used as a whole or just parts of it depending on what is being described. The person can follow the order or go back and forth sections. Not all items will have all the descriptors. Drawings are just examples to prompt the learner.
