I use this project after studying the factors that go into purchasing your first car, including cost, interest, new vs. used, loans, etc. This project also provides all the internet links that I have pre-approved for my students to use while doing this project. This provides structure to lead students to be successful in their research.

This project teaches students how to assess and create a budget for a theoretical person's expenditures.
The setup document breaks down the materials that will be needed and some details of the 7 different theoretical people. I used an envelope for each theoretical person, printed the bill amounts specified in the setup document, and several receipts that I collected from myself and colleagues.

This is an activity that I use to teach students about renting and moving expenses. The documents are scaffolded notes to engage students in educational short videos exploring these concepts. The videos are free online and linked to the documents.
