This PowerPoint tells the story of Thanksgiving and includes clip art and sounds to share as you read each slide aloud. As the story is read, the students add colored beads to a pipe cleaner. This helps the students remember the story of Thanksgiving with a keepsake bracelet they can take home!

This is a Phonics Screener that you can use as an assessment, to get baseline data, to progress monitor, etc. It includes a cover sheet showing each area included on the screener - Onset and Rime, CVC words, Blends, Controlled R, Digraphs, Vowel Digraphs, Vowel Dipthongs, and CVCe words. These are word wall cards that can be used for classroom display, flashcards, etc. They include all of the Second Grade Memory Words for the Superkids Reading Series. They are black and white with a polka dot border. They are editable and some blank cards are included, so you can add your own additional words if you'd like.

I have just added a new slide and made additions to the number/colors of beads the students will add.

Substitute teachers can use these slips to send information to the office or fellow teachers. Use them in your substitute folder or set out with your lesson plans when absent. Substitute teachers could also take these along with them to use when substitute teaching.

After passing out a chocolate chip cookie (the cookie is the ground and the chocolate chips are the artifacts) and a toothpick (the pick/shovel) have the students go on an archeological dig. Time each session and have the students stop as you wish and complete the "Fossil Dig Observation Sheet" along the way.

This worksheet could be used as an introduction, a review or an assessment. Clues are given for nine different animals. The students have to choose which need the animal is meeting based on the clues.
