About the store
For my first two years, I taught fourth grade in Bedford County, Virginia. During that time, I taught writing, reading, and math. This past year, I started teaching second grade in a self-contained class. Along with teaching, I also have a passion for writing for children. I have written and published three middle grade/young adult novels (two of which are historical fiction), as well as three children's picture books. I am also currently working with illustrators to complete and publish three additional children's picture books.

This activity acts as a supplement to writing how-to papers; however, it can also stand on its own as a creative practice exercise for using commas in a series. In this handout, the students plan what they need to prepare for a birthday party (snacks, games, guest lists), and they fill in their own original ideas while adding commas where necessary.

Declarative, Interrogative, and Exclamatory Sentence Memory Matching Game
This product includes a memory matching concentration game and key for students to play in small groups, in pairs, or individually. The game involves matching punctuation marks, sentences with missing punctuation, and the names of the sentence types for declarative, interrogative, and exclamatory sentences. The included instructions and key allow students to check their matches as they play.

This sort includes the accomplishments of famous Americans such as George Washington; Abraham Lincoln; Helen Keller; Martin Luther King, Jr.; Susan B. Anthony; and Jackie Robinson. My own education history
I attended James Madison University, earning my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies (with a concentration in Humanities) in 2009. I obtained a Masters of Art in Teaching from James Madison University in 2010.
