Experience

20 years teaching experience in grades 7 through 12. For the first five years of my teaching career I taught middle school math grades 7 and 8. The past fifteen years, I have been teaching high school math. I have taught Algebra 1 and 2, PreCalculus, and Intro to Computer Programming.

Teaching style

I like to use a discovery approach when introducing new concepts to my students. Often times I will put them into teams of four and create a guided activity for them or pose interesting problems for them to solve.

My own education history

Bachelor of Science Degree in Actuarial Science from Indiana University. Teaching Certification from Purdue University Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University

I have four grandchildren that keep me very active. I enjoy riding and just being outdoors. I have climbed Long's Peak in Colorado and Mount Whitney in California.
