Bottomless Math

This packet includes 40 pages of basic skills that are included on the 7th grade AIMS COMP testing. Each page has 20 problems for student practice, with room to show work and answers. I use this product by printing out individual packets for each student to work on for sets of time throughout each week, and correcting them weekly. This Bottomless Math activity has students filling in missing equations in sets of fact families that add up to numbers 3-10. Each fact family has the first equation given to jumpstart the students' thinking.

Once a week I give a lesson about how math is related to the world in which we watch a video or read an article, and I have my students completion a written reflection. I use this sheet at the beginning of the year to help guide them in their thinking and get used to my expectations. This reflection could be edited to be used in any subject area. I always require students to include a visual in their reflection to help show what they know, for which there is space at the bottom of the page.

I have students complete this reflection page every so often to help them process a certain concept or lesson.
