I have 23 years of educational experience teaching in public and private middle/high schools in North Carolina and Puerto Rico, tutoring students in high school mathematics and homeschooling my own four children. While most of my professional experience is in math, some of my materials were created for homeschool groups or my own children so you'll find some variety in my resources. My kids are working on their bilingualism and I spend a lot of time creating games we can use in our Spanish club so I post some of those resources as well!

I find that the best way to keep parents on your side as an educator is to keep them informed of what is happening in your class. Most teachers have too many students to call or write each parent, but email is a good solution in today's technologically savvy world. Pass out this form to students at the beginning of the year, or to parents on Open House night and create a listserv to keep in touch. Teaching style
My teaching approach to math is that you need some hands-on activities to keep them interested, some repetition to keep it in their memory, a lot of patience to keep yourself sane, and a lot of energy to keep up with them.

Additional biographical information
