Once students have a grasp of the basic trigonometric identities we introduce them to the pythagorean identities. Students often have trouble remembering these identities when they are not presented in the form the students are most familiar with. So I provide student 18 examples for them to simplify the trigonometric expression using the Pythagorean Identities.

Factoring is one of those topics that I have seen countless of students struggle with from Algebra 1 all the way up to Calculus. One of the problems I noticed is that many students learned how to factor but never had the practice to develop the relationships between the numbers and the factored expressions.
