These safety rules have been modified over years of teaching to provide the best overview of a modern woodworking shop. This 40 question true or false safety test accompanies the safety rules I also offer and is what I use to test my student's knowledge of the machines they will use before they start their woods projects. All students must pass the test with 100% accuracy before they can use the machines to encourage a safe classroom. If my students get any wrong, they have to explain to me individually why they answered it wrong and I will sign off on that question for them.

Use this consent form in your shop class to set a clear expectation for students that safety glasses will always be worn correctly.

This safety contract is a great way for students to own their safety responsibilities while in your class and allows parents to back up the safety mentality at home.
