This activity is an exploration of the number pi. I usually use it on Pi Day. It is intended to be a fun activity. I usually allow students to bring pie to eat while they work on the activity.
Students start out measuring the diameter and circumference of given circles to determine pi as a measurement. Then physical objects are measured to determine the same measurements.
An assessment is included.
The document is editable and answers are included in the assessment.
Includes ten files of drill work on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing integers. Including evaluating variables with integers. Test/quiz files are also included.
This would be a good handout for absent students. It includes notes and examples. It is editable to suit your needs. I used it when I taught multiple courses in one classroom (alternative school)
