This Algebra II discovery activity helps students analyze graphs of quadradic functions written in vertex form. Students investigate how changing a, h, and k affect the graphs of parabolas.
This activity was created by Caleb Wiles for his Algebra 2 unit on Quadratic Functions and Inequalities.
I rewrote the lyrics to the popular song "Shake It" by Metro Station for my Algebra I students. The new words describe the process of graphing lines and linear inequalities. My singing voice leaves a lot to be desired, but the math content is solid and the kids thought it was hilarious!
The students had a BLAST making the music video. Please check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eiwi3FvQumU
Feel free to pass it around as much as you like!
