My work focuses on creating practical tools that help children communicate, reset, and re-engage in learning. All resources are informed by best practices in social-emotional learning and classroom supports, and are designed to be respectful, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.

Teaching style

My teaching style is calm, supportive, and student-centered. I believe children do best when expectations are clear, language is simple, and support tools are readily available. I prioritize independence, choice, and emotional safety, and design resources that fit naturally into real classrooms without adding extra work for teachers.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My favorite “teacher moments” come from seeing children successfully use tools on their own by asking for a break, choosing a calming strategy, or returning to learning with confidence. Creating resources that genuinely help students feel supported and understood is what motivates my work at CalmByDrJ.
