Here is a fun way to practice finding the volume for cylinders and cones! All answers form the answer to a riddle. Students must remember to use the radius (not the diameter). Students must remember to use the fraction 1/3 for the volume of a cone. Students will use π = 3 so this assignment can be completed without a calculator. Great for review!

Students will use the Volume Formula for Spheres to calculate the volume from 4 questions containing radius and 4 questions containing the diameter.Next, using a straightedge, students will connect the radius or diameter on one side of the circle to its volume on the other side of the circle. This makes a pattern within the circle for students to color. There are two color combinations available to give variety in the classroom.

Students will enjoy shading in their answers to reveal the solution to the riddle. Multiply whole numbers to find the area as well as dividing whole numbers to find the missing side of a rectangle. Word problems are included, too!
