Questions for each chapter of "Un papillon dans la cité" by Gisèle Pineau. Certain questions include the specific page number to further guide students' responses. I use this reading guide with my IB French II HL students. These questions help them prepare for the IB oral assessment, where I will be choosing an excerpt from this book for them to discuss. My reading guide helps ensure that they fully understand the text as well as certain quotes and symbols.
As a teacher of IB French, I integrated past tense review, future tense review, and a grammar point (relative pronouns: qui, que, dont, où) into this week-long project that uses the IB Blog text type as the format. In this packet, there is a prompt that aligns with the Expériences theme (sub-theme: Voyages), along with a rubric, notes on passé composé, imparfait, and le futur, as well as notes on qui, que, dont, où. There is a full template that the students can follow to make their blog pages p
This is a multi-day IB French Journal Intime / Diary Entry assignment that aligns with the theme EXPÉRIENCES. This packet starts with a brainstorm page about humanitarian tourism, then includes a visual showing the journal intime format. The next page is a graphic organizer, and after that is a peer-editing checklist, IB writing rubrics, and a section for the final copy. The IB rubrics are in English so that students can familiarize themselves with what IB expects of them. The additional grammar
I created this authentic IB text type assessment for the "Organisation Sociale" theme, but you can change the prompt to reflect whatever theme you're on! The rubric is out of 50, and I counted it as a quiz and only gave them one period (40 mins) to do it. They are also required to add an idiomatic expression (I added examples for them to choose from), and higher-level tenses (they have to write one si-phrase). So, social organization and si phrases would be good to review before giving this asse
I incorporated this text type into my "Science et Technologie" unit that falls under the Ingenioisité Humaine theme. I created a template, prompt, and rubric for this assignment. My prompt relates to the science & technology sub-theme and a list of related vocabulary words is added to this packet as well. Additionally, there are notes on the Impératif tense as I required students to use it a few times within their opinion-based articles.
This document is all you need for being able to teach students how to write the IB text type, Entretien (Interview). This packet includes a travel vocabulary list (part of the assignment was to integrate specific words into their writing), a prompt that would elicit the choice of "entretien" as the proper text type, a template, and a specific rubric. This assignment aligns with the Expériences theme, and sub-theme: Les voyages. But you can use this template with any theme, just edit the prompt!
This 7 page packet includes a template, prompt, rubric, and graphic organizer for the IB French Text Type Lettre amicale / Friendly Letter. Additionally, there is an "Enfance" vocabulary list included. I taught this friendly letter text type during the Expériences theme, specifically during the "Souvenirs et enfance" sub-theme. This packet walks students through how to write a friendly letter, and gives them examples of a formule d'appel, formule de conclusion, etc., as well as a visual template
This note sheet creates a great visual for students learning the passé composé. It clearly shows the two parts of the passé composé (helping verb and past participle) and shows them how to write each part. The students will conjugate both avoir & être, write how to form the past participles of ER, IR and RE verbs that are regular, there is a section that identifies the verbs that use être as a helping verb, and the answer key gives each verb as well as its past participle. There is also a sect
