This is my 4th year teaching third grade. I teach reading, and language arts. I graduated from a local college in December of 2009. I was hired as a paraprofessional in February of 2010. After being hired, I worked in 3rd grade, kindergarten and served as a reading lab teacher for grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
If you love the book How Full Is Your Bucket, then this is just what you need. I made these for my personal classroom. I purchased a small tin bucket for each child and put their name on it. At the beginning of the year I read How Full Is Your Bucket. With this form, students can send positive notes to others in the class by filling fill out a bucket filler and placing it in their friend's bucket.
I created this writing rubric to use in my personal classroom because I could not find one that I really liked. I wanted one that was simple so students and parents wouldn't mind reading it. It was created in PowerPoint 97-2003 and is editable. I love it because I can use it with any type of writing. It also gives the students clear feedback on what they do well and what areas they need to improve. I included a comment section because I love letting the students know that I take the time to re
When checking homework for 2 sets of classes, I found it harder so I created this document to help me. I also made it to show two weeks at a time so I could identify any pattern.

I made this for my personal classroom. I will use these signs to decorate the bins that I am using to hold each day’s papers for my students.
I made these for my personal classroom. They are intended for students to use when checking out library books from the library. Instead of having students take their A.R. folder to the library, the students can take their card and it can also be their pass to the library. You can print slides 3 and 4 front and back. Slide 3 is to list their A.R. or lexile level so each student can easily remember what level to checkout from the library. I conference with my students each week. If a child need
I made this for my personal classroom. Print, laminate, cut out and hang up. You can add clothes pins with your students' names so they can visualize what step of the writing process they are on.
Modify the document by adding your name. Print on card stock and frame. Sit it on your desk and write things you need to do on it with an expo marker. This makes your to do list easy to find and easy to modify.
These content headings were made for my personal classroom. I made them long ago. I can't remember where I got the font from. Enjoy!

Experience

Teaching style
As a lover of technology and art, I try to incorporate both in my lessons. Our school doesn't have art, so I try to give the students an opportunity to illustrate while they learn. I also incorporate short clips to get their attention and teach educational songs to help them remember language skills.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I have the honor of teaching 3rd graders all day. :)
My own education history
I have an associates and bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. In 2011, I received my masters in technology in Post-Secondary Education.
Additional biographical information
I love God and hope to do his will. He blessed me with my wonderful husband, family, and friends. I love looking for new things that will help my students, traveling, going fishing, shopping, playing softball, and helping others.
