Poetry Scavenger Hunt This is a great, fun stations/small group activity that incorporates poetic devices into song lyrics. Students will use the graphic organizer attaches to search through the song lyrics included to find different elements of poetry, and explain the relation to poetry they see in books. This power point consists of several teachable note pages describing RL 3.3 and RL 3.7- could be used for RL 2.3 and RL 2.7 also! Several examples to model from and to discuss and complete with a partner. There are also worksheets included that can be used for any text. In this assessment, the student will read a similar play and story to compare and contrast, as well as answer text based questions. The student will also answer vocabulary questions referring to drama elements. Follows closely to Common Core standard RL.3.5- There are 17 questions, many with multiple parts to the question.
