We are a three teacher team and we have taught every grade K-5 in one way or another! Currently, two of us are Kindergarten teachers and one of us is a Resource teacher.
I was in need of extra practice solving BOTH addition and subtraction for my kindergartners so I made this activity! Students can use any strategy to help them solve the addition and subtraction problems. It can be used as a worksheet, in a station, or in whole group! I printed mine on colored paper (to differentiate the within 5 and within 10) laminated and used them in a center.
Included in this freebie are graphic organizers to help your students during black history month. After reading a story aloud to your class use this freebie to help your students name a trait of the person of focus. Students will also have to include evidence from the text to support their answer.
Includes an organizer for
-Mae Jemison
-Martin Luther King Jr.
-Jackie Robinson
-Muhammad Ali
-George Washington Carver

English Language Arts, Phonics & Phonological Awareness, Vocabulary
I have made a focus word, word of the week, or word of the day organizer that can be used whole group, in students notebooks, or as a worksheet. The organizer focuses on the word and how many letters, consonants, vowels, and syllables it is made of as well as rhyming words, a space for a sentence that uses the word, and an area to draw an accompanying picture.
This file includes 12 picture cards and 4 different worksheets. Each worksheet focuses on a different skill. 1 beginning sound, 1 middle sound, 1 ending sound, and 1 blending the word. The 12 picture cards will be used for all the worksheets no matter the focus!
This file is perfect for differentiation in small groups, partners, independent, or even whole group!

See it on our blog at chalkpaperscissorsteach.blogspot.com!
This is a fun way to assess students understanding of non-standard measurement. On this quick check, students will measure Valentine objects with candy hearts (students will need candy hearts for measuring). This activity could also be used in a Math station. Students can also use cubes or paperclips.
