Observations Versus Inferences Practice

This is a great worksheet to either introduce and/or practice observations verus inferences. The worksheet begins with a brief explanation with definitions and examples, then challenges students to differentiate between observations and inference statements for given images. At the end, students are challenged to come up with their own written inferences and observations for a photo. Teacher key is included, no prep whatsoever! Just print and go!

About the store

Experience

I have taught high school science for eight years, each year with minimal supplies and curriculum resources. Over the years I’ve taught: Biology, AP Biology, Environmental Science, AP Environmental Science, Physical Science, Forensic Science and Maritime Science.

Teaching style

Because there are 8+ spoken languages in my classroom, it’s so important that I am creative, flexible and offer differentiation to meet the varying needs of my high school students. I love to provide students choices in how they master a skill or standard. Through this, I also love to make students productively struggle. The famous, “ohhhhhhh” when a student comes to understand something is music to my ears. With that, my classroom is set up where we learn a concept together as a class, review an example or two, then send students off to explore own their own in small groups to extend their learning even further, increasing complexity with each step forward.

My own education history

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2016 and a Master of Secondary Education in 2018. I hold a license to teach grades 7-12 comprehensive science.
