I'm a bilingual Spanish-English SLP working in an Early Childhood center. About 50% of my caseload consists of bilingual English-Spanish students. I hope to make more materials available for busy bilingual SLPs!
When evaluating bilingual students, a number of informal assessment tools are KEY to doing an accurate evaluation. One of these fundamental elements is a parent language questionnaire to gather information about the student's language exposure and history. Every bilingual student is absolutely unique, and there are so many factors in understanding each student's needs. A comprehensive language history is important in parsing out language differences from language disorders! This is a parent que
When a kiddo is dismissed, print out this certificate for them to bring home to show their parents. I have loved seeing my students' faces when showing this to their teacher, they are so proud of their own accomplishments! Just add his or her name, school or clinic, date, and sign! I also fill & sign to add my printed name and credentials under the signature line for "Maestra". Print to fit.

This is a quick language sample checklist to use for data points, progress monitoring, or to formulate areas of need for an evaluation.
I am constantly trying to update my language sample checklists to be fast and user-friendly! If you have suggestions, please let me know!

Note: Checklist is IN English and contains Spanish-specific morphemes. I tend to use for most of my students and just ignore the Spanish-specific items for a monolingual English speaker

Send a weekly note home with what you worked on in speech and language therapy!! Quick and easy to use, with boardmaker pictures. I use these with my preschool students, but they may work for other populations as well.
These notes are a convenient way to communicate with parents to let them know you've been in to see their student. Just circle the activities you did or add another if it's not listed. Fill it out with your students if you have time to promote their awareness of goals.

Simple but cute data collection sheet designed for SLPs who use address labels (1" x 2-5/8") but use to fit your own needs! How I use them: I fill in each student's information by hand, including a quick version of their current goal or benchmark at the top of each column (e.g. /k, g/, "what/what doing" questions, MLU 2.5....). I take student data on the address labels and stick them on their data sheet in the appropriate column right after a session! I love having each goal in a separate column
