This 2-week mini-unit is designed to prepare students for the IB English Language and Literature Paper 1 exam. It is a crash course on the vocabulary used to talk about a variety of text types and gives them a system for organizing their paper 1, regardless of text type. Activities are deliberately structured so that they can be applied to texts that the teacher selects to fit within their IB course outline.
Unit design: This unit is designed for an IB English Language and Literature course, including both a non-literary body of work and a literary work.
