About the store
I began teaching in 1997 and have taught high school level math since that time. I have taught Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and AP Statistics. My family and I also spent two years at Taejon Christian International School, where I taught in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. I currently teach Algebra 1 & Algebra 2 at North Junior High in Boise, Idaho, as well as the Secondary Math Methods course for pre-service teachers at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho.

The activity allows students to visually create a number line that puts the most common fractions from 0 to 1 in order. Then students can take the values on their fraction number line and convert them to create decimal and percent number lines as well. A slide with a printable blank template is included along with a slide with completed number lines.

Experience

Teaching style

I combine group work and discovery learning with direct instruction, activities, and modeled examples to make math accessible and fun for my students.

I earned a B.A. in Mathematics from Northwest Nazarene University in 1996, a B.S. in Math Education from NNU in 1997, and M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from NNU in 2001.

My wife and I are both long-time educators and we are the proud parents of a middle schooler and a high schooler who also love school and learning.
