About the store
I'm going on five years of teaching experience, all of which have been dedicated to teaching algebra students and preparing them for the Florida Algebra End of Course (EOC) Exam. I have access to a lot of resources and now I'm creating more on my own so students have access to more practice in preparation for the test, especially with the new challenges of the Common Core State Standards.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this test, it is an end of course pass/fail test (that mostly consists of word problems) that also counts for 30% of the students' total grade in the course. It is now going to be made by AIR in Florida, which is much more rigorous and open-ended than we have seen in standardized testing before. From here on out anything I add will be written in this new format.

Practice EOC Test 1
This is a short, 25-question practice test that reflects the format of the Florida Algebra End of Course Exam. In the past I have given this to students during a 35-45 minute time frame, depending on how much time was available. Overall, the students who took this generally liked the practice and received the answers right away so they can check or determine on their own how to get the correct answer, which reflects the Common Core Curriculum.

Sequences as Functions
11 Questions starting from basic arithmetic sequence to probing about the comparisons between the sequence and the graph it forms. The questions lead students to graphing and writing the equation of this arithmetic sequence. This is easily an activity that students can try on their own and make connections with on their own as long as they have experience interpreting graphs and understand how to use slope-intercept form.

9 real world word problems that mostly consist of linear expressions and functions. Some can be used by solving systems. These problems are modeled after the Florida Algebra End of Course (EOC) Exam.

Drawing Pictures with Piecewise Functions - Bazinga!
A total of 32 lines with limitations in the domain or range come together to create the word "BAZINGA!" on a coordinate plane in 4 quadrants. Answer sheet is given in the form of a neat graph (so you can clearly see the picture) and a numbered graph so you can see which equation goes with each individual line in the graph.

Dimensional Analysis "On the Field"
An AVID activity that will require you to take students on the football field to show them the importance of dimensional analysis in the real world. Students will be required to estimate values and collaborate and discuss why/if their answers differ to determine if their estimations were close. This lesson includes a 3-page worksheet that students must fill out. The format is very open-ended and presents more of a challenge to students than they have ever seen before. This worksheet (you could use this as a test, quiz, or practice) is my interpretation of what test questions from AIR will look like based on the sample problems I've seen online.

4 questions, all with at least one error. Students are expected to identify and explain what errors were made and what steps needed to be taken to fix them. This can be used as a classwork worksheet, homework, or a small bank for assessment questions. Great for group work to promote collaboration.

Teaching style
I LOVE using my Smartboard and other technologies to help my students. I have a Youtube channel (AlgebraBTHS) dedicated to working out example problems to help them. I regularly use edmodo.com with my students as well to give them access to any information they need for extra help.
