This zip file contains two word documents. They are both running record templates. One is for fiction stories and the other is for non-fiction stories. I use these to assess students reading levels during guided reading groups. Both sheets come with generic questions that any teacher can ask to see how well the students think within, about and beyond the text. Example questions are, but are not limited to:
Fiction
- What problem did the character have in the story? How did they solve their prob
These place value strips are great for teaching place value, expanded form, partial sums and more. Each place value strip is a different size based on its place values (thousands, hundreds, tens, ones). When the strips are cut out you can lay them on top of each other. Then you can pull them apart to show each number's value. For example if you make the number 4,365 you can them pull it apart for the students so they can see that:
4 = 4,000
3 = 300
6 = 60
5 = 5
These posters are a great visual to have in your classroom to remind your students of the procedures they should follow during your guided math sessions.
