Currently, I am an author and illustrator of books for children. Before retiring, I was a National Board-Certified Teacher in Santa Rosa County, Florida. According to Florida's Department of Education, I was in the top 10 to 30% of all teachers in the State of Florida in Math and Language Arts. I was honored to be Teacher of the Year at Pea Ridge Elementary School. I was a district finalist for Santa Rosa County's Teacher of the Year that same year. I have thirty years teaching experience collectively in grades 1 through 5 and was a Highly Effective Teacher.

STEAM STEM JANUARY CHALLENGE
This STEAM/STEM January Challenge includes a Power Point presentation with this challenge:
Frosty is enrolled in an engineering class. He and his fellow snowmen are given a design challenge. Each team must build a device capable of launching a snowball. The team that builds a device that launches their snowballs the greatest distance will win the challenge.
Several worksheets are provided so students can hold group discussions, create their designs, answer questions and analyze the effectiveness
