Students will be naming various shapes while finding their area. They may also need to find the missing dimension. These task cards cover parallelograms, triangles and trapezoids. The document also includes a spreadsheet in which students can put their answers as well as an answer sheet.

In Protractor War students learn and understand how to read a protractor. This fun card game that we all grew up with is now in an educational version of Protractor War. Students flip over their cards at the same time and read the measurements on their protractors. The player with the largest measurement wins all cards. This set of 16 task cards covers calculating volume of rectangular prisms. These are aligned with common core standard 6.G.2. This packet also includes a recording sheet with room for students to show their work and answer sheet. These cards are great for math centers, independent practice, partner work and other cooperative learning models. I have even taped one set around the room and had students moving together with a partner from problem to problem. They love it!

Students move throughout the room completing problems. These can also be used as a task card set. However, to make it quicker, put one on each desk and have student rotate when you tell them to do so. They really enjoy this when I turn music on while they work.
