Pi Day activities with Waffles! This product can be used with DISTANCE LEARNING

Give your students a chance to make their own choice in their pi day celebration! Supplies that make the day fantastic: Waffles (any brand and flavor will work), syrup, plates, plasticware, and toasters (optional, but you will probably want to warm the waffles if you are going to eat them).I usually ask for students to start bringing these supplies in the week of 3/14 and I keep the waffles in the freezer if we are planning on eating them. Experience

I have been teaching for eight years at a school in Charleston, SC. I started my career teaching 7th and 8th-grade math and now have been teaching 6th-grade math and science for seven years. I enjoy teaching both subjects during the day and correlating standards across the curriculum in all subjects.

Teaching style

* Problem-based learning is very exciting for middle school students! It gives them ownership and purpose in their learning. *Personalized Learning with differentiation is something that all teachers strive for as well as rigor. *Blended learning and with station models, digital and face-to-face, flipped classroom, and ITS programs.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was teacher of the month for October 2014 and September 2015. I have been nominated for teacher of the year from 2013-2019. I have been in the local newspaper and on news broadcasts for a problem based project that I assigned my students. I have also received countless forms of recognition from my students, peers, and administrators throughout the years, which, in my opinion, is the highest honor of all.

My own education history

Bachelor's degree of Science in Middle-level Education with a minor in math and science from the College of Charleston. Currently obtaining a Masters in Instructional Design and Learning Technologies.
