I have taught Kindergarten as well as 1st Grade in rural and urban Title 1 schools. I teach a large population of ESL students. Although I have taught 1st and loved it, Kindergarten is my favorite because they make so much growth...and it's the most fun :)
I was named the 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year for my school. Within my district, I lead monthly professional development on teaching mathematics in Kindergarten. I have also led professional development on Guided Reading in Kindergarten and vocabulary instructional strategies.
This packet of forms covers the Guided Reading levels A-E. I use these anecdotal records to make observations as I observe and help children during guided reading groups. They could also be used for reading conferences during independent reading time.
For more information on how to use these forms/an explanation of what everything means, please see my blog post here: http://growlittlekindergarden.blogspot.com/2014/05/kindergarten-guided-reading-anecdotal.html

I made this tool to figure out what I had and needed for the upcoming school year. There is a spot to record what you have, what you need, and a few blanks to write in things that you might need that are not on my list. There is also a spot to copy over the "have/need/items" onto a shopping list for making school orders easier.

Teaching style
I believe that a classroom should be noisy and fun-we talk, sing, and dance our way through the curriculum! My daily instruction revolves around a balance of whole-group/small-group instruction, as well as some workshop time.
