A fun and engaging word search using 48 words associated with the Pythagorean Theorem! Use as an introduction to the unit, an assignment to be worked on and completed throughout or at the end of the unit! Perfect to get students familiar with the words and keep student interest! Words can be found going forward, backwards, up, down and/or diagonal! 3 different formats to choose from and 2 color-coded keys included!

Students are asked to design a back yard using various items described in the lesson. Students are to use a ruler and calculate the area and perimeter of each item placed in the backyard while also calculating the percentage of the backyard that the object takes up. Can be done individually or in groups. A fun and engaging way to help students see the importance and relevance of math, particuarly perimeter, area and percent. My students LOVE this activity! I have used it in my 6th and 7th grade
