About the store
I've been teaching for nearly 20 years. My undergraduate degree is in Health and Physical Education. However, my first teaching job was teaching self-contained special education at the middle school level. Since then I've taught health and PE, self-contained special education at the high school level, middle school math (7th and 8th grades), and co-taught ELA and math as the special education teacher as well as the general instruction teacher. My certifications are many, but I think I've found my niche in math.

BINGO - Writing an Equation of a Line given the Slope & a Point

Created by
CoachNumbers
This activity is great for differentiation and student choice! Students pick 5 problems in a row, either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, to write the equation of the line in Slope-Intercept Form given the slope and a point. Each row has a fraction as a given slope. There are problems with a given point is the y-intercept. If your students need more practice, have them do more problems. Hope you and your students find this resource helpful!

This product has provides two graphic organizers, each providing a different step-by-step method of estimating non-perfect square roots, as well as one worksheet and answer key. One graphic organizer provides the "guesstimate and check" method." The other graphic organizer provides the "fraction formula" method. Each graphic organizer has a completed version as well as a blank version that students can complete as guided notes. The worksheet consists of 10 questions. The non-perfect squar

Multistep Equations (with one variable) Partner Check

This resource consists of 3 different sets of worksheets. There are: variables on one side, variables on both sides, and different solutions. Each set of worksheets has 2 or 4 variations. This would be a great resource for stations or collaborative partner activities. The answers to each set of worksheets is the same. The way I utilized this resource is have the students work out their own worksheet on their own. Give them a time limit (10 minutes is reasonable). After time is up, have

Triangle & Angle Station Activity

This seven station activity allows students to apply their knowledge of the Triangle Sum Theorem, Exterior Angle Theorem, and Angles formed by Parallel Lines cut by a Transversal. Each station applies at least 2 rules and/or theorems. When I do this with my class, I print the stations on different colored paper and hang them around the room. I then divide the class up; students must stay at their color station. However, this activity could also be used as task cards or in small groups as w

This is a great activity for differentiation when teaching Systems of Equations by Graphing. You can have your students work individually or in partners. It's a great activity for stations; print it on cardstock and put into a plastic sleeve and allow students to write on with dry-erase markers. It provides students with choice! There are three levels to this activity: Level 1 - both equations are in Slope-Intercept Form; one solution Level 2 - one equation in Slope-Intercept Form, one equ

Allow your students a little freedom from the boring worksheet. Students have 12 task cards (questions) to answer on an answer sheet. Students have freedom of choice in which order they answer. The tangible task card adds for variety. You can even print the answers on the back of the task cards if using them at a station, so students can self check. Students solve for the legs as well as the hypotenuse of a right triangle. Half the questions are Pythagorean triples; the other half require

This is a great resource for Pythagorean Theorem or distance formula. The airplane is relatively basic. The flower, however, is a little more challenging because its leaves are right triangles; so, unless students recognize that the slopes are opposite reciprocals (which create perpendicular lines), they may struggle to find the area.

Converting Terminating Decimals to Fractions - Task Cards

With this task, students work on converting terminating decimals to fractions. When I did this activity with my students, we played "speed dating." I made two copies of each task card. I set up the desks in to circles. Students sat across from one another and became partners. These partners were given the same task card. Students converted their terminating decimal to a fraction. After a set time (about 90 seconds), students on the outside circle rotated and took their task card with the
