Over twenty years of teaching and designing curriculum has helped me to appreciate that learning is a meaningful adventure, especially when writing is involved. This curriculum is lovingly made to help cultivate skills writing across the curriculum, as well as to appreciate the heroic journey of learning. Basic Rubric for Writing Assignments
This short analytic rubric allows is basic enough that it can be used in a variety of writing assignments and classes. Assesses CONTENT, STRUCTURE, and FORMAT. Key terms on rubric are "claim, evidence, reasoning, thesis" (for content); "intro, body, conclusion, topic sentence, supporting details" (for structure), and "heading, work cited, spacing" (for format). This basic rubric contains a section for STUDENT COMMENTS and TEACHER COMMENTS, so allows for peer-and self- reflection as well as tea
